Its not everyday, or even every year, that you get a new Stephan Jacobs mixtape. #SJmix2014 is set to come out as an appetizer to the “Afterglow Remixes EP”, which will be available on February 3rd, on Simplify Recordings.  It will be available everywhere, with remixers by; Kiaro Kingdom, Rudebrat, Knight Riders, B.R.E.E.D, Bottle Service, Serenity and a bonus live version of “Build The Sky” redone as a live band with a music video

On this mix is also the debut of the first single “Take Over The World Tonight” featuring @magicmomentsofficial, from the still in progress EP “Suspended in a Sunbeam” (out this summer).

Says Stephan “The title for the upcoming album came about as a result of feeling more humbled by the universe of late.  I have been listing to some inspiring quotes, and this one is from Carl Sagan’s about “The Pale Blue Dot”, brings me to the feeling of equality, no matter what our job or position on earth may be due to the human condition we experience…we all have our ups and downs.”

~Carl Sagan Quote
“From this distant vantage point, the Earth might not seem of any particular interest. But for us, it’s different. Consider again that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every “superstar,” every “supreme leader,” every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.”

After Warped Tour I built my new studio in Downtown Los Angeles, “Bass Cartel HQ”, and have finally been able to get deeper into the fusion of EDM and analog/live music tracking. It has been a learning process, and is proving to be well worth it! Over the past few months I have produced a new EP with “Souleye”, collaborated with a bunch of artists (including my good pals Vokab Kompany) and am in the midst of writing a ton of new music.

TWould be rad if y’all could repost this mix, and share the love.  Be sure to hashtag it #SJmix2014 so we can all be linked via internet space web.
